Publishes through the official WordPress REST API

WordPress Post Scheduler

Schedulin publishes posts to your WordPress site at the time you choose, with a title, a featured image, embedded video, and the status you want: published, draft, pending review, or private. Your blog post and the social posts announcing it go on the same calendar, so a launch goes out together instead of across three tabs.

How do I schedule a WordPress post?

Connect your site with an application password, write the post, and pick a time. No plugin to install.

1

Create an application password

In wp-admin, open Users → Profile, scroll to Application Passwords, name it 'Schedulin', and click Add New Application Password. It's separate from your login password and you can revoke it any time.

2

Connect your site

Start the WordPress connection on Schedulin's Channels page and enter your site URL, username, and the application password. Schedulin signs in to your site's REST API to verify it before connecting.

3

Write the post

Add a title and write the body. Attach an image to use it as the featured image, and add videos or more images to embed them in the post.

4

Pick a time and a status

Schedule it to go live, or have it land as a draft, pending review, or private post for a final check in wp-admin.

Schedule the blog post and its promotion in one place

WordPress has a built-in scheduler, and it works for the post itself. What it doesn't do is the rest of the launch: the LinkedIn post, the X thread, and the Instagram story that send readers to it. Those usually get scheduled somewhere else, by someone else, and drift out of sync with the article they're meant to promote.

Schedulin puts both on one calendar. Schedule the WordPress post for 9am and the social posts pointing to it for 9:15, and move them together if the date slips. For editorial teams, the 'pending review' status sends a post to WordPress's review queue on schedule, so an editor can approve it in wp-admin.

Connecting needs an application password, not your WordPress login password. Application passwords are built into WordPress 5.6 and later.

Which WordPress post options does Schedulin support?

The fields that matter for a blog post, set before you schedule.

Required title

Every WordPress post needs a title. Schedulin asks for it in the composer, so a scheduled post never fails at publish time for a missing one.

Featured image

The first image you attach is uploaded to your media library and set as the post's featured image, the one your theme shows at the top of the post and in archive pages.

Embedded video

Attached videos are uploaded to your media library and embedded in the post as a WordPress video block, so they play right on the page.

Publish, draft, pending, or private

Go live at the scheduled time, or deliver the post as a draft, into the pending-review queue for an editor, or as a private post.

Posts, pages, and custom types

Publishes to regular posts by default. Set a different post type, such as pages or a custom type exposed to the REST API, per post.

No plugin required

Schedulin uses the REST API that ships with WordPress and an application password you can revoke from your profile at any time.

What are the limits of WordPress scheduling?

Schedulin works with self-hosted WordPress sites and WordPress.com sites on a plan that supports plugins (Business or higher). It publishes the title, body, featured image, and media. Categories, tags, excerpts, and SEO-plugin fields aren't in the composer yet, so set those in wp-admin after the post goes up. WordPress doesn't expose post analytics through its API, so Schedulin records each post and its URL but doesn't report views.

Some security plugins and hosts turn off application passwords or block the REST API. If your site does, allow them before connecting. For automated pipelines, the same scheduling is available through the Schedulin API.

Blog posts and promo posts on one calendar

Line up the WordPress post, the LinkedIn post announcing it, and the X thread summarizing it, and reschedule them together if the date moves.

Publish the post, then promote it everywhere

A blog post gets read when it's shared. Schedule the WordPress post alongside posts for LinkedIn, Facebook, and X pointing readers to it, and cross-post technical articles to DEV.to and Hashnode from the same composer.

Ship the post and the announcement together

Connect WordPress with an application password and schedule your next post alongside its promotion.

WordPress scheduling FAQs

Yes. Connect your site with an application password, write the post in Schedulin, and it's published through the WordPress REST API at the time you pick, on the same calendar as the social posts that promote it.
