Slack Scheduler

How do I schedule a message to a Slack channel?

One OAuth click to add the app, then a channel ID on each post. No webhooks or bot tokens to manage.

1

Add the Schedulin app

Click Connect Slack on the Channels page. Slack's authorization screen asks you to approve Schedulin for your workspace. Approve, and the workspace appears in Schedulin.

2

Copy a channel ID

In Slack, open the channel, click its name at the top, and copy the Channel ID from the bottom of the About tab. It starts with C (or G for some private channels).

3

Write the post

Paste the channel ID into the composer, then add your message with Slack formatting, images, or a video.

4

Schedule it

Pick a time or add it to your queue. Schedulin posts the message on time and saves a direct link to it.

Why schedule Slack announcements?

Slack's built-in scheduler sends messages as you, one at a time, from your own account. That's fine for a reminder to a coworker. It falls apart when you run a community or customer workspace: weekly roundups, event reminders, release notes, and welcome threads that need to go out on a rhythm, often alongside the same announcement on X, LinkedIn, or Discord.

Scheduling Slack in Schedulin puts those messages on one calendar with the rest of your content. Because each post carries its own channel ID, a single connected workspace can have launch notes in #announcements, event reminders in #events, and a Friday roundup in #general — all queued ahead of time and all visible next to the posts going to your other networks.

Schedulin posts as its app, not as your personal Slack account. It joins public channels on its own; for private channels, invite the Schedulin app to the channel first.

Schedule Slack posts in seconds

Group accounts, publish to every channel at once, and keep media, captions, and hashtags perfectly in sync.

What does Schedulin support on Slack?

Native Slack messages with real images and uploaded video, posted by an app installed in your workspace.

Formatted messages

Captions are posted with Slack's mrkdwn formatting, so *bold*, _italics_, lists, and links render the way they do when you type them in Slack.

Images inline

Attached images render inline under your message, so the announcement and its visual arrive together.

Video as native files

Videos are uploaded to Slack as real files and shared in the channel with your caption, so members can play them without leaving Slack.

Any channel, per post

Choose the destination channel on each post by ID. Public channels are joined automatically; private channels work once the app is invited.

Multiple workspaces

Each workspace you authorize is its own account in Schedulin. Run a community Slack and a customer Slack from one Schedulin workspace.

Clear errors, not silent failures

If the app isn't in a channel or needs a permission it doesn't have, the failed post says exactly what to fix instead of disappearing.

What doesn't Slack scheduling cover?

Posting is one message per post into a channel the Schedulin app can access. Slack doesn't offer a metrics API for channel messages, so Schedulin doesn't report reactions or views for Slack posts. Published posts still show as completed with a link to the message.

Scheduled posts come from the Schedulin app rather than your own profile, which is usually what you want for announcements. Pair Slack with team collaboration so teammates can draft announcements for review before they go out.

Launch day: Slack, Discord, and LinkedIn in one pass

Your community hears it first. Compose the announcement once and send it to your Slack workspace, your Discord server, and your LinkedIn audience together, with per-network edits where they need them. See how scheduling works.

Keep your Slack community active on a schedule

Add the app, queue this week's announcements, and let Schedulin post them on time.

Slack scheduling FAQs

Yes. Slack's built-in scheduler sends one message at a time from your own account. Schedulin lets you schedule messages to any channel in your workspace from a shared calendar, posted by the Schedulin app, alongside your posts to other networks.
